Coleman Two-Burner Propane Stove Review
One piece of camping gear that comes in handy, especially for longer stays out in the woods, is a camp stove. Now when you look for a stove for camping you should really look for quality because they are one of the key pieces of equipment that you don’t want to break down in the middle of your trip.
Another feature to consider is how easy it is to operate. There’s two parts to assessing this: how easy is it to get started cooking your meal, and how hard it is to setup or change fuel canisters.
Based on these metrics, we found the Coleman Two-Burner Propane Stove to be our choice when buying a stove for camping in the woods.
Some campsites have a grill near them so you might be wondering why this is useful anyway. But these stoves give a lot greater time and fuel efficiency.
Grills are definitely not known for the cleanliness of their cooking, and you also have the spend time scrubbing the surface. With a stove you can either cook your food in a small pan or warm something up right in the open can itself. You also get a more even cooking surface so your meat will get cooked evenly.
In addition, this particular model has a nice ergonomic design. Panels on the side are engineered to keep heat around your cookware and the breeze away from the flame. The burner adjustment valves are a bit sensitive, meaning very little movement, makes a big difference in the flame.
The burner works pretty well. There is a low setting to cook quick food that would otherwise burn, or you can set it on high and it will boil water in around ten minutes.
The only possible con I’ve found is that you need to light the flame itself. I’ve been okay with it by using a common kitchen-style lighter.
Overall my opinion is that, for the money, this is a solid stove for camping and provides good value for the money you spend. You get two burners that are consistent and even, and it is light enough to move out to your camp if you need to.
